Why we love Black Mountain, N.C.

Asheville is on everyone’s vacation list but nearby Black Mountain should get consideration, too. Black Mountain is about 15 minutes east of Asheville. My wife and I visit Centers’ B&B every couple of years to catch up with a good friends and get re-acquainted with their wily boys.

It rained all weekend but that only made the trip better. It was cool and comfortable, and we didn’t need the air conditioning for our two-night stay. Black Mountain has a charming downtown with plenty of little shops and places to eat.

Our favorite stops: Louise’s Kitchen for brunch and hey hey cupcake for any reason at all.
